Bankruptcy Clinic

Volunteer attorneys at the Bankruptcy Clinic assist clients who are considering filing for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.  Volunteers will assist clients in assessing their income, property, assets, and debts. Volunteers will advise clients and answer questions about the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy process, discharging debts, collection-proof income, and protecting certain property utilizing MA exemptions. Through this process, volunteers help clients better understand the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy process and decide whether it is the right choice for the client. Volunteers at clinic are supported by the Bankruptcy unit attorneys and paralegal.

Requirements: Volunteers must be licensed in Massachusetts and admitted to the United States District Court of Massachusetts.
