Consumer Debt: Overview and Defenses

This training will begin with an overview of the debt collection industry and then will focus in on debt collection in small claims court. This will be followed by a discussion of arguments made by the plaintiff and common defenses.  The presentation will walk through the various settlement arrangements and trial. It will conclude with an outline of the post-judgment court sessions and debt collection in the civil session.
