Telephone Advice Panel
Our Call Center, the Eastern Region Legal Intake (ERLI) helpline 617-603-1700 or 1-800-342-LAWS (5297), needs experienced attorneys to help provide telephone advice consultations.
The advice panels are an integral part of ERLIs’ work as it provides an opportunity for our eligible Clients to receive extended advice in areas of housing, family, employment, and trusts and estates law, where they may otherwise go without.
You can sign up to volunteer at a time and place that is convenient for you! You can even make calls from the comfort of your home. Need office space to participate in advice panel calls? You can utilize our office at 7 Winthrop Square, Floor 2, Boston, MA. All we ask is that you sign up for a timeslot of 1-3 hours on a day and at a time that works for you, and we will send you a referral memo and any other pertinent documentation before the call.
Volunteer as often as you’d like, whether monthly or quarterly.
How it works:
- Sign up to volunteer for phone consultations at a time that is convenient for you. Clients who contact the ERLI helpline and are eligible for services but don’t meet priorities for direct representation are scheduled for these telephone advice sessions. You’ll be notified when a client signs up for one of your time slots, and you’ll be given the necessary background information before the call.
- Clients are advised that they are being referred for a consultation only, not direct representation.
- Volunteer as often as you like and speak with the client from anywhere.
- We suggest that you sign up for at least two 30-minute sessions at a time.
