Bankruptcy Chapter 7 Training
Jan 29 1:00 pm 2:30 pm
Looking to assist a client in need of a fresh start? You’ve come to the right place! Learn how to do so by representing clients in a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy case. This includes carrying your own client caseload and working one-on-one with clients to assess their income, property, assets, and debts. We will provide you with an overview of the Chapter 7 process, including dischargeable/non-dischargeable debts and protecting certain property utilizing MA exemptions, ultimately leading to filing the Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition on behalf of the client. Volunteers will work under the supervision of the Unit’s Staff Attorneys. All skill levels are welcome! The Volunteer Lawyers Project provides primary malpractice insurance for all pro bono work.
This training is NOT for individuals seeking legal help. If you are seeking legal help, click here.
