Eviction Defense: Basics and How to Get Involved

Event Overview

This training will provide attendees with a basic overview of the different types of evictions and how the eviction (Summary Process) works in the housing court system. The training will also explore the most common defenses and counterclaims to look out for when assisting tenants and other housing resources that may be available to tenants facing eviction. It will also provide information on how to volunteer with VLP for Housing Court Lawyer for the Day and VLP’s Answer and Discovery clinic, as well as how to volunteer to take individual cases.
