FDCPA & 93A Claims in Consumer Debt Cases

February 11, 2020 4:30 pm 6:00 pm

This program will focus on how to use state and federal consumer protection law to help consumers in debt collection cases.  The program will also discuss counterclaims that consumers can assert against creditors, debt buyers, and debt collectors.  We will cover the elements of different claims and how to draft a legally sufficient and compelling 93A demand letter.

Finally, the panelists will describe how to issue-spot for affirmative claims under state and federal consumer protection statutes and common law. It is recommended, but not required, that attendees have attended the VLP Consumer Debt 101 training.
